I often find the things I write sound contradictory. But in that contradiction lies truth. Is there, for example, freedom within obligation or, more importantly, the ultimate freedom when we know what's important? Is there freedom when there's only one choice - because that choice is the only right choice?

Be so stillyou hearthe beech leavestell storiesof their lifeclinging in death. Sometimes when I'm out for a walk on a winter's day, it's so still I can hear the snow squeak. So when there's a breeze and the beech leaves rustle, it's a rude shock. The beech trees around here keep their dead, bronzed leaves all winter. I don't know why they do that, but they're a reminder that nature is beautiful, even in death. Indeed, perhaps for nature, death is beautiful too. My 2023 Black Friday Sale...
